InnoCity Partners Launches to Drive Institutions Toward a Smart, Connected Future

The Dallas team that built the fastest-to-market smart city initiative in the country will bring proven expertise, best practices and global community to support clients in building impactful programs.

December 18, 2019 [DALLAS, TX] - Today, Dallas Innovation Alliance (DIA) cofounders Trey Bowles and Jennifer Sanders announced the launch of InnoCity Partners LLC (ICP). ICP is a consultancy focused on providing value by utilizing their proven subject matter expertise and global community to support cross-sector clients in the strategic design, planning and implementation of customized smart city programs. ICP advises and supports clients in the public and private sector, real estate and campus environments by tapping into innovative, connected strategies that further their organizational objectives.

According to Grand View Research Inc, the worldwide Smart Cities Market size will be $2.67 Trillion by 2025. ICP will focus on how to take clients from inception through the complexities of design, execution and measurement, pulling from deep expertise gained in the formation and deployment of initiatives including coalition building, public private partnership structures, project management, community engagement, and effective use of data. Guiding clients through objective alignment, asset mapping, setting clear KPIs and driving value through effective relationships and contractual structures all assist in navigating a rapidly evolving area that provides maximum impact to stakeholders from the community to investors.

“We are excited to expand our vision in order to respond to requests we have received from organizations across the country to support them in their smart city initiatives”, states Trey Bowles, Founding Partner of InnoCity Partners. “ICP allows us to transfer the market-leading experience and reputation we have built over the last several years into this new organization to best fulfill our clients’ needs.”

In 2015, Bowles and Sanders launched the Dallas Innovation Alliance (DIA), a public private partnership to develop the smart cities “living lab” that would provide results, best practices and a case study to the City of Dallas to support its smart city strategy, development and inform scaled deployment.

During their time with the Dallas Innovation Alliance (DIA), they built the fastest-to-market smart cities initiative in the US with the Smart Cities Living Lab, encompassing 10 integrated projects in a six block corridor. These addressed the vetting of ROI amongst use cases in resource efficiency, neighborhood revitalization, public safety, public health, citizen engagement and transportation.

Since its founding, the DIA built a coalition of three dozen formal partner organizations, has worked with more than 100 community organizations and engaged thousands of residents. Building upon the models established in their public-private partnership within the City of Dallas, the founders of InnoCity Partners, LLC will build upon sector expertise gained to provide value to entities around the country and across the globe.

Jennifer Sanders, Founding Partner of InnoCity Partners states, “In this rapidly changing world, finding new solutions to old problems requires utilizing new tools and innovative perspectives. The evolution of utilizing data and technology as a catalyst and enabler to improve quality of life, economic growth and ensure a secure future, has driven the rise of the concept of smart cities. We are thrilled to be able to share our experience in support of organizations seeking to achieve that vision.”

The nonprofit P3 model developed at the DIA has been sought after by cities and regions around the world as a unique partnership that can move and adapt quickly to test solutions for municipalities and beyond.

Trey Bowles brings two decades of experience as a serial entrepreneur and ecosystem builder to InnoCity Partners. Prior to the Dallas Innovation Alliance, Bowles built and exited multiple companies in the tech and media sectors, and launched the Dallas Entrepreneur Center (The DEC) in 2013.
